Hello cyberspace.

Welcome to KatieGerdt.com, an online attempt to establish some artistic street cred. When I married into a nerd herd, I had no idea that my days of creative privacy were over. These days my tech savvy husband (Dave) follows me around prompting, "You could do something with that sketch! Post it! Blog it!"

Moments after my concession to start a creative blog, Dave's sister-in-law jumped on board to design it. For a few days, geek jargon flew back and forth over my head (pun intended) as she and her husband planned it out with Dave. Now as I prepare to launch my right-brained ramblings into a blind date with the world wide web, I feel nervous about being vulnerable. But I'm also timidly excited to explore and connect in new ways.
